I like the pats who are now at pk many places over the Bills. I made this decision before I heard the bad news.

Rumor has it that he may end up in a Bills uniform in time for the game Sunday... If this happens I may hedge my bet. I do like the pats here but he was a big reason why along with the rest of the guys on this D.

For the sake of doing it I'm gonna post my picks.

I figure if I'm gonna blab my opinions around I might as well start keeping track of my record again (for better or for worse).

Pats pk
Jets ML+130
Dolphins -13.5 (bought 1 point)

So there it is.

Pats pk

I like the way the pats have plowed through preseason and their new look on D.

Preseason doesn't mean shit - and maybe the teams they played didn't put as much into it as the Pats did, but what they did prove was that they have the right attitude coming into the season. The team very well could lose every game this season but I'll take my chances and bet not.

Their look on D is really refreshing. Ty Law is good - but the other two guys they have at corner (Eugene Wilson and Asante Samuel) look really good for young guys. Almost too good. I think that the performance of these two played a key role in the decision to get rid of Milloy. Rodney Harrison is just as good at the fundamentals and thus far the way he has been playing reminds me a lot of the way Milloy played a few years ago - he was just itching to take peoples heads off. Harrison I believe has been playing Free safety and Milloy was at Strong safety so it will be interesting to see who fills that spot. Without Tebucky AND Milloy I think it will be an adventure up the middle. They certainly lost something but if the new Strong safety (Morris I think - played for Tennesse last year) can just hold his own I think that the improved corners can very possibly make up the difference. Overall the D has improved - this 400 pound D lineman (washington)is a big improvement and even if he just stands there and looks mean I think that they will think twice before running at him.

Bledsoe wants nothing more than to win one against the pats and that I believe is going to be a major key to him LOSING this game. Under pressure he has had his moments but when he tries to hard he does tend to overdo it and make stupid mistakes.

He has had a year to deal with this but I think that since its the first game of the season with all the hype that its a prime time for him to have a letdown. And I don't mean in terms of total yards - somehow he manages to throw every game for 400 yards but its never enough to win.

The bills have improved their secondary and if Milloy gets on the field I don't doubt that he will have his old mentality back... The pats will need to run the ball and they will need their back by committee approach to pay off. I think that Faulk and Antoine are both mature enough to handle this approach and I think that it will be just enough to give Brady the room he needs to make stuff happen.

Anyway thats it. It all amounts to nonsense if they lose so whoop dee doo.

Jets ML

Vinny is old and he knows it. He may suck and be overwhelmed by being back on the field for the first time in years and/or the linebackers who I think are pretty good on Washington.

The press is endless about how the Skins got all the Jets now and how this spurrier's time. To me its all BS. These teams are very different - they both suck, and that is all they have in common. It doesnt help that the Jets O will have to adjust to Vinny.

Its a toss up and I'm going with the jets because the payout is good and I think Vinny knows that this is it for him. Its sad really.

boo hoo

I like both picks.

Granted I am biased about the Pats, but Thier are a few aspects oabout this game that has me drooling.

Bellicheck has typically owned Bledsoe in his career, and is light years better than Gregg Williams.

Last season NE ran this bizarre defence, with no down lineman, and allof the Pats front 7 were moving around, confusing the BIlls lineman, and causing plenty of stress on Bledsoe. It will be interesting to see what type pf radical defense, Bellicheck has in store.

I am concerned about Milloy, not so much as an X and O type of thing, but I do worry about the pats morale.

I will take the chances. Pats should win.

Fins -13.5

The Texans man - P. U.

I am taking this one a bit blindly but you gotta love Miami opening at home.

Then I looked at the texans offense and my mind was made up.

Am I talking to myself here?

Here to take my medicine

Posted this on another thread in case you missed it:

I guess figuring he might win one of these is an understatement... Makes for an interesting matchup in foxboro - if the pats can win a game between now and then.

Good call to all on the Bills. Their improvements payed off.

Milloy had a sack - Spikes had 2 picks...

Colvin had a sack and the rest were silent - though I will say that Harrison still impresses me with his hitting, every other play he was knocking heads - apparently not when it counted though.

Not to change the subject but did you guys hear that Warner got a concussion...

ok enough changing the subject - I might as well recap and save the anticipation:

3 bets - 3 losses:
Jets ML
Pats pk
Miami -13.5 (bought 1)

I redifined the meaning of getting crapped on....

See Chad - this is why its not so great to talk smack.

I put in a 4 team 13 pointer for a consolation prize -

Dallas Cowboys +11 Sun@4:15p
Seattle Seahawks +10 Sun@4:15p
San Francisco 49ers +6 Sun@4:15p
Tennessee Titans +10 Sun@8:30p
(Teased 13.0 points)
